At lottoresults.nz we want to be open about how our content is made. We use artificial intelligence (AI) as a tool in our editorial process, but every text is worked through, fact-checked and edited by a person before it goes live. This page explains how that works.
How we use AI
We use the AI tool Claude, developed by Anthropic, to speed up parts of our work. Typical examples are pulling research together, structuring an article and producing a first draft. AI helps us work faster and cover a topic thoroughly.
AI is always an aid and never the last word. No text is published in the state it leaves the AI tool.
Our human editing
After the draft stage, an editor takes over. This is where the most important part of the work happens. Among other things, the editor:
- Fact-checks every detail against reliable primary sources, such as Lotto NZ’s official game rules, the Department of Internal Affairs and Safer Gambling Aotearoa.
- Corrects or removes anything that is wrong, out of date or misleading.
- Works on the language so the text is clear, accurate and easy to read, including for beginners.
- Adds context and judgement that an AI tool cannot supply by itself.
- Makes sure the content is original and not copied from other websites.
Lottery content needs particular care with numbers. Odds, prize divisions, draw times and game rules are checked against the official source each time, because an AI tool can state an outdated or incorrect figure with complete confidence. Rules also change: when Lotto NZ alters a game, we go back and update the pages it affects.
The goal is that you, as a reader, always get content that is correct, useful and written for people, not for search engines.
Why we are open about it
We believe in transparency. Telling you how our articles are made is a matter of trust: you should be able to rely on the information you read here and know how it was produced.
We also follow Google’s guidelines for helpful, reliable content. Under those guidelines, what counts is that content is accurate and made to help people, whether or not AI was involved in producing it. That is the principle we work by.
Fact-checking and responsibility
Everything published on lottoresults.nz is covered by editorial responsibility. An editor reviews the material, and we update our pages as the facts change, for example when ticket prices, rules or draw times are revised. You can read more about who we are on our About us page.
Our content is information, not gambling advice
Please keep in mind that our articles are informative and descriptive. They are not an encouragement to play, and they are not gambling advice. The site is written for adults aged 18 and over. You can read more on our responsible gambling page.
