Welcome to lottoresults.nz, an independent information site about lottery games in New Zealand. Our aim is simple: to help beginners understand how Lotto, Powerball, Strike, Instant Kiwi and Bullseye work, in plain language and without any sales talk.
We are not Lotto NZ and we are not connected to it. We do not sell tickets, run draws, hold player accounts or take stakes. We describe facts: how the games are built, which rules apply, how results are checked and what is worth knowing before you decide anything for yourself.
What we do
On lottoresults.nz you will find step-by-step guides to New Zealand’s lottery games, explanations of the terms used around them, and practical walk-throughs of things like checking a ticket or claiming a prize. In our work we put the most weight on:
- Explaining odds, prize divisions and game rules in everyday words, so that someone who has never bought a ticket can follow along.
- Presenting facts neutrally, without encouraging anyone to play and without telling you what you “should” do.
- Keeping pages current when rules change, and checking details against reliable sources before we publish.
Our principles
Everything we publish rests on three principles: it should be fact-based, independent and easy to understand.
We check details against primary sources, such as Lotto NZ’s official game rules, the Department of Internal Affairs and Safer Gambling Aotearoa. If we cannot confirm something, we leave it out. We also avoid presenting figures that change from draw to draw, such as current jackpots, as if they were fixed.
Winning numbers and prize amounts on any information site can contain mistakes or be out of date. The official result is always the one published by Lotto NZ, and that is where a ticket should be checked before you act on it.
How the site is funded never decides what we write. We describe every game in the same way and do not promote one product over another.
The editorial team
The content on lottoresults.nz is written and reviewed by a small editorial team that works with informative, fact-checked content.
Bridget Calloway is the editor and writer responsible for the site. Bridget plans the guides, writes and edits them, and checks that the rules, odds and dates we publish match the official sources. She is also the person who follows up when a reader points out an error or an outdated detail.
How we use AI
Parts of our content are prepared with the help of AI tools, including Claude from Anthropic, which support us in research and drafting. Nothing is published as it comes out of the tool. All material is reviewed, fact-checked and edited by our editor first, and responsibility for what we publish always rests with us.
You can read more about how this works in our AI policy.
Contact
Have you found an error or an outdated detail, or do you have a question about our content? Please get in touch through our contact page and we will look into it. Feedback that helps us keep the site accurate and useful is always welcome.
We cannot help with questions about tickets, MyLotto accounts, payments or prize claims. Those need to go to Lotto NZ directly.
